Pikes Peak Spiked Apple Crisp: Heather Chisolm

Serves: 8

Ingredients:
5 cups peeled and sliced apples (Pippin, Jonathan, or Winesap)
1/2 tsp cinnamon sugar
1 tsp grated lemon rind
1 tsp grated orange rind
1 jigger Grand Marnier Liqueur
3/4 c granulated sugar
1/4 c light brown sugar packed
3/4 c sifted flour
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 c butter or margerine

Instructions:
1.  Preheat oven to 350.  Arrange apple slices in greased 2 quart round casserole dish

2.  Sprinkle cinnamon sugar, lemon rind, orange rind, and liqueur on apples.  Let soak in fridge for an hour or more.

3.  In separate bowl mix white and brown sugar, flour, salt, and butter with pastry blender or fork until crumbly.

4.  Spread mixture over apples

5.  Bake uncovered until apples are tender and top is lightly browned, approximately 1 hour.

6.  Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream.
